Results of Default Recirculation Ballot for the Z136.3 (CDV2) – Document Approved

The default recirculation ballot to approve resolutions made to the Z136.3 Safe Use of Lasers in Health Care, closed Monday, May 29, 2023 at 5:00 pm Eastern Time; the deadline for comments for the second public review of this same document closes July 17, 2023. There have been no comments received from public review yet.

In the case of a default ballot, if a member of the balloting group does not plan to change their vote on a default recirculation ballot, it is not necessary to return the ballot. In this case, the vote will be counted as in the original ballot. This applies to both affirmative and negative votes.

Of the responses received –

Of the four who voted to disapprove CDV1, two changed their response to approve CDV2. Two who did not previously cast a vote responded, one approved and one abstained. Below is a comparison of the original results and the recirculation results:

CDV1 results

Ballots returned: 36 of 46 = 78%

Abstain: 2

Affirmative: 30 of 34 (returned less abstentions) = 88%

Negative: 4

CDV2 results

Ballots returned: 38 of 46 = 83%

Abstain: 3

Affirmative: 33 of 35 (returned less abstention) = 94%

Negative: 2
